Low-income households and those facing a food emergency are invited to participate in our 15th Annual Holiday Meal Box Program. Qualifying households are allowed to reserve one meal box to be picked up the week prior to Thanksgiving. Boxes will include a frozen turkey and other fresh and pantry foods to create a homemade Thanksgiving feast.

Become A Sponsor

Hays County Food Bank invites your organization to become an official sponsor for our 15th Annual Turkeys Tackling Hunger campaign! Will you help us fill the tables of families in need in our county? If you have any questions about your sponsorship, please email Iris Tate or call (512) 392-8300 x230.

Financial Donations

Financial donations help us provide holiday meals to low-income families and those who have a temporary need for food assistance. The week before Thanksgiving, we will hand these holiday meal boxes out to those who might otherwise go without a home-cooked holiday dinner.

In-Kind Donations

In-kind donations make Turkeys Tackling Hunger the success that it is. Please contact Eleanor Owen-Oshan at (512) 392-8300 x234 or by email for details. We are in need of the following items:

  • Printing services for marketing materials
  • TV, radio, and print advertising
  • Turkeys and/or hams
  • Holiday meal sides
  • Gift certificates (goods or services) for volunteers, campaign contest winners, etc...

$30 can provide a holiday meal for a family in need.

Give the gift of a feast this Thanksgiving. Your donation can provide one family with a box of traditional holiday food that they can prepare at home, surrounded by their loved ones. Will you tackle hunger this holiday season?

Your $30 donation qualifies you for this year's commemorative shirt. If you do not want a shirt, but would still like to donate, there is an option in the T-Shirt size dropdown menu.

Our clients are in need of food throughout the year. However, the majority of community food drives occur during the holiday season and most of the food that comes in through these drives is canned. We believe that a little healthy competition is a good way to inspire schools, churches, civic clubs/organizations, and businesses to change lives by getting into the spirit of giving! This is what drives our annual food drive challenge.

We hope to

  • Encourage the donation of fresh foods, thus increasing our clients' access to nutritious options,
  • Raise awareness about hunger by reminding Hays County residents that their neighbors benefit from food assistance year-round, and
  • Recognize the hard work that competing teams are doing by giving them the chance to house our traveling trophy for one year.
