New look for Food Bank vehicles
Look carefully and you might see a couple of eye catching vans on the road these days. Featuring a new logo, these distinctive green and white vehicles travel the highways of Hays County seven days a week, rain or shine. Used by staff and volunteers to pick up and deliver food on a daily basis, the vans have also proven useful in advertising the agency.
The graphic design for the vehicles was developed by Pat Tessaro, Community Relations Coordinator for the Food Bank. Pat notes that, "We wanted to use the vehicles like a traveling billboard, with a simple graphic that showcases the logo, phone number and website address at a glance. These vans are on the road every day. What better way to educate the public about the Food Bank? Making both match was money well spent - we couldn't afford that kind of day to day publicity in another form!"
The vans do double duty in local parades and other events. Pat states, "One of our marketing goals is to get out the word about the Food Bank in cities outside of San Marcos. Even though we have served Buda, Kyle, Wimberley and outlying area for years, people are not aware that we send food to those locations every week. Driving a Food Bank van in a Budafest parade or in the Wimberley 4th of July parade helps get our name out there. Plus, it's SO much fun. Taking a part in these local celebrations is a real pleasure."
