Statistics at a Glance:
- The Food Bank has seen a 44% increase in the number of times people received food in the last two years. In 2007, the agency distributed food to individuals an average of 6943 times a month. In 2009, that average number climbed to 10,100 a month.
- In 2009, over 600,000 pounds of food valued at $1,157,000 was given to hungry people in our community
- Of this total, the Food Bank gave $454,000 of food at no charge to the clients of 60 + partner agencies
- We helped 6,537 people at Thanksgiving in 2009 with a turkey box complete with a turkey and the trimmings for a holiday meal.
