Donates Produce

In celebration of Hunger Awareness Day on June 5, the Captial Area Food Bank donated a "Gift of Produce" to area food pantries.  9 different grocers and food companies donated over 100,000 lbs. of produce valued at $250,000.  The CAFB passed that food along to food pantries in its 21 county service area.

Volunteers and staff from the Hays County Area Food Bank traveled to Austin early Tuesday morning to pick up two vehicle loads of fresh lettuce, peaches, tomatoes, oranges and potatoes.
