This Lenten season, what you give is as important as what you give up.
Your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:27) There are as many Lenten traditions as there are denominations, but we are all one community in Christ sharing the tradition of responsibility for our neighbor in his time of need.
As we move into the Spring and Summer, our food stores start to dwindle, and the need increases when kids break for Summer. But there is a way to help. The one who showed mercy (Luke 10:37) During this holy season, we at the HCFB ask you and your church to partner with us in a good neighbor campaign. For every five pounds of food donated, HCFB can provide the equivalent of four meals! We will supply your congregation with empty grocery bags for each family to take home, fill with canned goods and other nonperishable items, and return the following week. Our volunteers will pick up your church's generous donations within the week.
